Here are some animated graphics I made. Most are animated GIF graphics; some are animated PNG images.
Note: it is generally unwise to use animated graphics; there are, however, situations in which they can be very useful.
Note: the big advantage of animated PNG images is that they can have more than 256 colours, whereas animated GIF images can have no more than 256. Animated PNG images can therefore be of higher quality.
Note: animated GIF images are compatible with all browsers; animated PNG images are compatible only with modern browsers, with old browsers displaying only the first frame.
Caution: some browsers have options to either 1 disable animations, which typically results in only the first frame appearing, or 2 disable animation looping, which typically results in the animation playing once, with only the last frame appearing thereafter. For these reasons it is wise to design animations so that desired images appear for both the first and last frames.
Caution: flashing or flickering images can cause epileptic seizures in some people, hence animated graphics must be carefully designed not to trigger seizures, e.g. by avoiding flashing at a frequency from 2–55 Hertz. For more about this, see Photosensitivity and Seizures and Photosensitive Epilepsy.

The animated images are organized into several subsections:
These animated GIF icons were made to give the impression of cobras opening and closing their fangs, thereby emphasizing the severity of the dangers which these icons are intended to convey.
These animated GIF graphics were created for the Browser News website on the anniversaries of its publication: the graphics are intended to look like candles with flames blowing in a breeze.
These GIF graphics were made animated in order to fit longer messages in smaller spaces: if non-animated graphics had been used, the messages would either have been much tinier, or would have taken up more space than would have been wise.
These PNG graphics were also made animated in order to fit longer messages in smaller spaces; but animations will not appear if you have an old browser:
The GIF banners at the top and left edges of this site’s pages, as well as the following graphics, were made animated to emphasize that the services and products offered use dynamic digital technologies:
